
FREE Baby & Toddler Things to Do in Prince George, BC
Finding things to do in Prince George with babies and toddlers can feel totally overwhelming. But it doesn’t have to be. There are lots of different and accessible programs available to young families in Prince George, and it’s just a matter of finding one that works for you.
This list of free Baby & Toddler Things to Do in Prince George requires no registration and no fees. Unlike the list of 7 indoor Playspaces, some of these activities are structured (or semi-structured).
- Story Time at the Prince George Library
- A variety of different storytime options are available at both Prince George Public Libraries. An up to date schedule can be found on the library website.
- Storytime, kids aged 0-5, Tuesday 10:15 am – 10:45 am, Bob Harkins Branch
- Baby Time, kids aged 0 -11 months, Tuesdays 11:30 am – 12:00 pm, Bob Harkins Branch.
- Storytime, kids aged 0-5, Wednesdays 10:15 am – 10:45 am, Nechako Branch
- Baby Time, kids aged 0 -11 months, Wednesdays 11:30 am – 12:00 pm, Nechako Branch.
- Storytime, kids aged 0-5, Thursdays 10:15 am – 10:45 am, Bob Harkins Branch

- Strong Start Program
- Strong Start structure varies from school-to-school, and families are welcome to attend any number of options with kids aged 0-5. A copy of the child’s birth certificate is required to register.
- Find a full list of Prince George area Strong Starts on the School District 57’s website. Strong Start only runs during the school year and is subject to professional development days.
- Power Play
- free community programming open to all families hosted in the gym at the South Fort George Resource Centre.
- Hours: Monday and Wednesdays from 10 am -12 pm. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30 pm -3:30 pm. All Year.
- Little Artists Program
- Free community program hosted at the South Fort George Resource Centre in the Preschool room. This is open to kids 0-6 and is an art-focused activity led by a facilitator.
- Hours: Thursday: 10:30 am – 12:00 pm. All year.
- Mother Goose Program
- Held at the South Fort George Resource Centre, this program is aimed at kids aged 0-2 (older siblings welcome) and resembles a more causal story time and play experience.
- Hours: Tuesday from 10 am – 12 pm, the program does not run all year.
- Hike it Baby Prince George
- No need to register to attend a hike, walk or playdate. Check the Hike it Baby Prince George calendar to see if something is scheduled and stop in anytime.

- Breastfeeding Support Groups
- Pregnant and Breastfeeding mothers are always welcome to attend any number of breastfeeding groups in town. You don’t need to be struggling with breastfeeding to attend.
