Are you ready for it? Christmas time is near which means tons of community events across Northern British Columbia. We might break it down for some of the bigger towns, but we know that some of you are travelling this winter, and/or live near multiple towns and you might just want to know about all the big community Winter events going on in Northern BC. We know we do.

November 23 – Houston, BC – Christmas Light Up
Kick start the holiday at 7 pm with the annual light up at Steelhead Park for festivities and as troll through the park. Hosted by the District of Houston and Houston & District Chamber of Commerce.
November 25 – Prince George – Annual Civic Light Up
The 25th Annual Civic Light up kick starts the season with entertainment, activities and treats at Canada Games Plaza. There might even be fireworks. Sponsored by the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation
November 30 to December 1 -Prince Rupert – Winterfest
Celebrate with Prince Rupert starting Friday night with a lighting of the trees at the Court House complete with entertainment and snacks. Saturday will play host to a Santa Claus Parade and many other activities.
December 1 – Fort St. John – Santa Claus Parade
The parade starts at 5pm and will run south on 100th street from 108 avenue to 96 avenue with a light up at the North Peace Cultural Centre and a visit from the Claus Family. Hosted by the City of Fort St. John.

Dawson Creek – An Old Fashion Christmas
December 8 – 10 – Barkerville – Old Fashion Victorian Christmas
It’s a magical Christmas at Barkerville with seasonal activities, displays, carrolling and more in the historic village open December 8, 9 and 10 in 2018.
December 8 – Vanderhoof – Parade of Lights & Midnight Madness
Hosted by the Vanderhoof Chamber of Commerce, join the community of Vanderhoof for an evening parade with floats and trucks sparkling with lights through the main streets of Vanderhoof.
December 12 – Hazelton – Christmas in Hazelton
Join the community for the lighting of the Christmas Tree in Old Town at 5:30. A variety of activities will be available from sleigh rides to a bazaar and a bonfire. More details.
